Blue Jay

The downside about having only a couple of months to put together 10 looks, and only the weekends to do it, is rushing through pieces. When it came to start Blue Jay I decided I wanted to slow down and do something more intensive. I really liked the idea of making a pattern similar to the tail feathers of a blue jay. The design of the actual dress changed a million times, but I finally fell onto a short petaled skirt. It ended up being such a fun bouncy dress and totally worth all the extra work. I think those Irish Step dance dresses I worked on at Celtic Dragon might have had an influence on me!
