Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This was one of those instances where I got to cosplay from a series I love and still have a fun costume to make. Too often I like series with characters that have street clothes for costumes and that's no fun for me! I am happy to finally be able to say I have a Buffy costume, even though she doesn't normally have dark hair! I was lucky that she wears a brown wig in this episode so I could use my real hair!

Construction

This costume was so much fun to make because it is SO TACKY. I got to shop in the Christmas ribbon department, and search for doofy ribbon rosettes. I had a blast with it! The rose fabric started off bubblegum pink and I dyed it to a fuchsia color. The middle fabric is casa satin. It's far too light compared to the actual dress but I couldnt' find any satin ribbon to match anything darker so I had to compromise. The sleeves are embroidered organza. The dress is worn over a corset and petticoat so it's big and poofy.
