Melisandre from Game of Thrones

Like most cosplayers, I too was taken with the costumes from Game of Thrones. I have a cosplay-to-do list of at least 5 different costumes from the series. I started off with the beautiful red priestess Melisandre because the costume was simple enough, and was perfect to wear in colder cosplay environments (so of course I made it in the summer like a moron!)

I drafted the pattern for this dress from scratch based on actual photos of the one worn by the actress. I particularly love the sleeves and the great big shoulders!

I made the necklace from craft foam, puffy paint, and a bit of wire. The jewel was a clear jewel that painted on the backside with a few different nail polishes.
