Princess Neptune from Sailor Moon

I made this costume back when I was in high school to wear to prom. It was my first time doing any pattern alterations and sewing with chiffon! I took a lot of liberties with the design since it was intended as a prom dress. Recently I decided I no longer had space to store it so I gave it a great send off with a "trash-the-dress" shoot in the ocean!

Construction

I made the basic pattern of the dress by combining a bodice and skirt pattern together so there would be no waistline seam. The dress was partially lined with a center back zip, pleated back panel, and chiffon train attached at the shoulders.

The wig in the trash the dress shoot is a Ferrari from Arda.
